Thermos Cooker

Have you heard of a Thermos cooker? Basically how a Thermos cooker work is that you cook something over the stove until it is very hot and then you transfer the whole pot into this Thermos cooker. The pot will be the one that comes with the cooker. And you close it and the food will continue to cook for another 2 hours with the heat that is trapped in it.

So it only uses a 15minutes gas but cooks for the next 2 hours. Of course that also means you must have a lot of time or prepare way ahead of time the food that you want. I saw this promotion in groupon or something and wanted to get one for the boyfriend so that he can cook himself some soup and then cook the rest of his dinner with Thermomix when he is home from work. I know he wouldn't cook soup for himself after work so this may come in handy. Luckily my mum and his mum seems to own one themselves so will have to see who can find their Thermos cooker first. I am not in any way saying that Thermomix is not good enough but it is always good to have another appliance to make his life easier. This one that I am showing above is RM600++. Not exactly cheap for something that can only cook like soup, braised dishes or curry. If it wasn't for the one in groupon that is about RM88, I wouldn't even consider this. But then again, we wouldn't know the quality.

The Mugshot

The boyfriend and I went to The Mugshot few Fridays ago. Like FINALLY. We've been wanting to go but didn't manage to. Glad we went there cause I super love the bagels. Some love it, some don't. Oh well, I've tasted a horrible bagel before so I like the one I tried at Mugshot.

Love the vintage-y deco of the whole place. Creates a cozy environment to dine in. I was sitting right beside the display so the yogurt were tempting me. Will go back for that!

Look at the brick oven. Super cool right???

 Black tea for the boyfriend

Salmon with Cream Cheese Bagel for me!!!

While the boyfriend had Ham Bagel and Black Coffee.

Then we went to take some "compulsory" pictures at the booth. I forced the boyfriend to write Road Rage cause he is a mad driver =P

 Look at the face!!!
He wanted me to write unreasonable cause I can be rather unreasonable with him. But I made him write indecisive instead. Teehee.

Room that matters

The boyfriend and I talk a lot about our future like how we want our wedding to be like, how much money will we need for that to ever happen, where we want to stay, how many rooms do we need and how much will that be. And then we try to imagine how we are ever gonna save up that much before I became too old (note: I am a year older than the boyfriend but we sometimes make it seems like I am 10years older).

So for him, it has always been the room and the living room. He needs a place to fall back and relax when he comes back from work (in future) and his pick of the rooms that matter will be either the room or the living room.

I, on the other hand, covet the beautiful and big kitchens that I've seen on Pinterest, television and now Tammy's after reading her blog. Knowing that our budget will not allow for that to happen (at least in the next few years), I am not too greedy. I may not get as big a kitchen as those I coveted but I am willing to take a small one and make it werk.

I typed wrongly and typed kithen instead of kitchen in Pinterest and got quite some interesting finds. =P There are clumsy people out there.

Anyways, I have always dreamt of a kitchen with huge oven, lots of working top for me to chop and do other tv-shows-chef-like stunt and also lots of storage space. Trust me, to have lots of working top, you need lots of storage space. And I also covet for a pantry. I need a pantry! Cause it's so cool to know that you can prepare enough food for the next few weeks should there be a need for it or that you can whipped up good stuff for unexpected guests! (I know, too much cooking shows)

These two may not have a lot of storage space but I think these will work in small apartments' space in Penang right? In fact the few that I have below are workable for Penang houses/apartments too except maybe I have to make some stairs to reach the storage in the picture below and think of how to keep the lizards away.

This blogpost will remind me of my dream for my kitchen once I get a house. And then maybe I can compare what I have and what I have been wanting to have. And I truly believe that God will give me my dream kitchen and dream house when the time is right. I don't mind much about rooms, but I must have a beautiful kitchen. And a small nook for me to read and do my personal stuff.

And the boyfriend has promised me that. =P

A time to celebrate

 Boo-yah...

Presentation is over. Only had ONE lecturer during my presentation so only got like very little feedback. However, it's okay. I am happy. She didn't say I'm AWESOME but she did say my presentation was clear so I anyhow make that as SUPER AWESOME..ok la, kidding. I did normal.

So, with that, I have been lying on the bed, reading my novels for the past hour, will get up, write SOME blog post on hatyai and schedule it ALL over and then fix my www.cookwiththermomix.com blog and then I'll watch some movie, clean my room and WALAO TALK LIKE I GOT WHOLE DAY LIKE THAT.

Really, I only have another 3 hours maybe? before I go to bed so yea, we'll see what I can do in that mere 3 hours. Judging at how I tend to be distracted and do other things, I assume not much. But not much is better than none. So I shall embrace that.

Putting this penguin picture up reminds me of how bulat I am getting so Diet Starts Tomorrow 2nd November 2012. Serious!!! ^^

Veet If Off with Nuffnang

When I was about 12, I was curious of how it'll be like to have no hair on my legs. So I took a shaver and shaved off one part of my leg. I totally forgot about it until coarse hair started to grow on my leg. I was shocked cause the rest of the leg has finer hair but only that one spot has coarser one. Then I remembered I shaved my leg previously.

I had no choice but go to my mum to confess. She scolded me for being so silly. I continued shaving my legs and the longer I shave, the more I shave. So soon, almost all the hair on my right leg is shaved off. But I have hairy right leg and not so hairy left leg. When I heard about Veet, I immediately talked my mum into getting me one. So she did (she had no choice, her daughter got imbalance amount of hair on her legs =P).

This marks my first Veet!!

I've never looked back ever since. Veet gives me the confident to wear short dress and shorts. My mum always teased me and say my leg is like the "Steamed Chicken" after I use Veet. It's really in Hokkien called "Pek Cham Kay" cause "steamed chicken" has smooth and silky skin.

When I forget to restock on my Veet, the hair on my legs will grow and grow and it is so scary, I dare not wear anything short. Due to my studies, I've kind of neglected the hair cause I wear long jeans to class every day. The hair on my leg can fight with my boyfriend's. Don't ask me why he still loves me. T_T

So I've been wearing these maxi dresses I bought (in 4 different colours) and also some other maxi dresses to church on Sunday as my Sunday's best. If I run out of maxi dresses (or if I'm afraid that people ask me if I don't have other clothes), I'll wear tunics and leggings to cover my legs.

I have this in salmon pink, yellow, black, turquoise and I have another floral one. So yea, I have 5 in total.

It's awful cause I have many beautiful short dresses and I can't wear any of them but sticking to my maxi dresses.

So I have to do something about it. I got myself a Veet.
I bought for dry skin one. Want my leg to be smooth and soft.

One side with the cream, the other side looking over with envy

smooth and silky!!

So the boyfriend helped me to pin it up while I was busy Veeting myself.

With Veet, I can now wear short dresses so I can alter my maxi dresses into a shorter one so that I don't have to wear 4 different colours of maxi dresses. I can now have long and short ones for sophisticated and bubbly day!

Ta-da. Maxi dress can keep for a while now.

Another one just cause I like it.

Veet brings out the confidence in me!!! With Veet, I can now wear beautiful short dresses and show off my legs!!

ps: Above are 100% TRUE STORY.

Just now the boyfriend said, "Oh,  no wonder la you kept wearing maxi dresses everywhere lately. Now can wear short dresses already lo?" I think he secretly likes my smooth and silky legs but say love my hairy one just as much cause he always like that one. Everything also he will say like. I know he likes my leg after Veet because he said, "Next time when wedding time, you wax your legs la." Tsk tsk tsk, pecah rahsia.

Below are great video to show you how to Veet your legs. Sorry cannot video myself cause I don't have sexy legs and I don't Veet them as sexily as the models in the video. =P

Yes, you can imagine I do that too.. HAHAH Just not in such a sensual and sexy way. =P

Grandma Handphone

My grandma wanted a handphone. So my sister got her one (bestest granddaughter I tell you). I've never seen such a phone. I didn't even know it exist. So if you need a phone for your grandma, you may consider this.

#1 Huge ass numbers for grandma , CHECKED!

It's crazy how huge the numbers are. I'm amazed by my sister's ability to source this out. Where did this thing come from? Super awesome I tell you!!!

#2 Camera, CHECKED! IT HAS A FREAKING CAMERA!!! Now grandma can camwhore too! HAHA..not that she does. She doesn't even call with the phone. She just want one. =P But it has camera lor. Big ass numbers with camera. More stylo mylo grannies will need it!

#3 Charger input and I think earphones input as well.
Means got music? I am not sure cause my sister lost the charger and the battery died anyway. So I didn't get a chance to operate it and see what's inside. But what's outside is pretty cool to me.

The usual sound control etc.

But who would have thought such handphone exist? With huge ass words and camera. I still can't get over this.

So looking for a handphone for your grandma? Try to look out for this. You have got to show the picture cause I don't know what model is this. =P

Rice Dispenser from MilkaDeal

Saw this one the side bar of my blog ads under Nuffnang. SO FREAKING COOL! I mean I've always been scooping up rice from the plastic bag (don't even have a proper container okay? fail.) using my small KFC mash potato container. This is so cool. It's so interesting that I will actually click on my own ad (never really done that before) and check it out. And share here.

For RM89, you can get a container like that, stores up to 12kg so your 10kg bag of rice can all masuk there.
And what's cool?
  • One Push dispenses exactly 1 cup of rice (150g)
  • Size: Approximately 19cm (W) x 39cm (D) and 41cm (H)
  • No electricity / battery required
No more scooping with pathetic KFC mash potato container from idk who or when.

Quite cool if you ask me. Easy to know if you are running out of rice. Asians love rice so this is quite useful. I don't have place at my house currently for this but if I do have a proper house, this can come in handy.

Ok, am sounding very aunty now. It's really just me procrastinating on my readings.
