Birthday Wish List

So basically it's the time of the year again where I grow another year older. I used to post up my wish list so that it makes everybody's job easier and I get what I need/want instead of getting people to buy things that I may not need or want.

Then I kinda stopped because it makes me feel like I am very buay paiseh and thick-skin to actually imply to people to get me stuff. Then this year, my friends (casually) asked me what I want for my birthday since we were settling some debts over other friends' presents. And I decided that I am old enough to choose sensible (actually not la hahaha) presents. So here goes.

1. A pretty Thermos mug (from Starbucks but I've found a giver).
2. A few bags that I casually stumble upon but may not be a suitable bag since I am venturing into my working adult phase. But here goes

RM60/bag

RM70 for the sling one

All these bags can be purchased from You, Me and Shoes.
I also found some bags from Bonita (Queensbay ground floor) to be nice. But they are not for working adults, no?

Actually I only got two things for the time being. I will think of more!!! Need to be quick about it though. Birthday is in 11 days!!! Super old, super fast.

ps: You can buy me a more sensible working adult bag too cause none of my bags now show ANY signs of me becoming a working adult.

Job searching woes

I don't know what I want.

I am about to receive my Masters of Arts in English Language and Linguistic Studies which will come in handy if I become a teacher/lecturer. But then I don't feel like being one after all these studying and being a part time teacher.

So now I'm lost, I don't know what job I should apply for and I'm just stuck here staring at websites on job offers.

Thermos Mug

Is it just me or did you notice that Hanna, her mum and Mona brings coffee in pretty thermos mug to work/school? I've spotted some other students who brought as well. Tempted to get one myself cause it's super environmental friendly, it's pretty, and I can swap coffee with hot honey lemon or milo or something. I don't take coffee.

And I wanna source one for Daniel too.. But I have to source them locally cause I don't wanna get something from some dodgy website =P Gonna start sourcing. Can't wait to get my hands on a pretty pink + blue + green one. Don't mind peach colour too!

some of the thermos mug I found online. So hard to find those that are nicer!!!! Nevermind, I shall persevere!

Doing Happy Dance

Actually this was decided few days before my viva but viva comes first so although I was already super excited and started 'researching'.

Guess what???

I AM GOING TO BALI IN APRIL!!!

The boyfriend has to go to Bali to observe the 'Green School' there for his dissertation and 7th April happens to be his mid-sem break. So who gets to tag along??? ME!!! So being the one who is crazyyy about making itinerary (I made itineraries for the girls' trips to KL and whatnots okay?), I'm currently researching on the places to go (given by the driver we contacted) and also listing out the entrance prices and stuff to make sure we have enough money. Of all things, I enjoy researching on stuff like these. =P Need to maximize our time there so will look at reviews and other blogs to make sure I skip the boring ones and not miss the exciting ones.

Last year, for my birthday, my eldest sister brought the whole family to Phuket, Thailand. So we celebrated my birthday there with complementary birthday cakes in the two hotels we stayed at. This year, the boyfriend and I will be in Bali, Indonesia for my birthday. Quite excited! Am thinking of looking for a good place for dinner on my birthday there. ^^

Being average

If you were from my circle of friends, you would know that I'm always somewhere slightly above average or average in terms of studies. I've never been the top scorer mainly because I'm pretty lazy if I so admit it myself. I've never finished reading any of my text book until I got to Form 6. I liked Economy back then so I finished reading that book (for the first time in my life). I can walk into exam hall, reading only HALF of the whole syllabus but I looked like I've read the whole syllabus 10 times. Nobody believed me when I told them I was clueless. Mainly because I've never like failed so badly in my exams. I somehow scrape through every exam with a B. As are only for subjects that do not need lots of reading like language and Maths and Moral.

Entering university, I continued being an average students. I don't do too shabbily but lecturers don't exactly remember me for my academic achievements (not that I have other achievements to brag about). They either remember me for being very loud and noisy or other reasons but my achievements.

So imagine my joy when my own supervisor told me that she is proud of me that I pulled through with the course and dissertation. I've only had a handful of teachers who were proud of me like my English teacher (Pn. Yee whom we affectionately called her pineapple head) and...I think that's all. Some had high hopes for me but none actually felt proud of me. She told me that I was just a few marks shy from getting into the Resource Room (with a B+) and looking at how I was adopted and now I'm just few days away from getting my Master's Degree, I'm glad I made her proud.

And to hear it from my supervisor is even better cause I used to think that she is slightly scary. So I was grinning from ear to ear the moment I left her office until I bump into the boyfriend at the gate cause he cycled over to accompany me back.

I need to write this down in my blog because it's not something that you get to experience every day. I hope I made my family and the boyfriend proud as well. All Glory to our Almighty God. He has blessed me throughout my time in USM. Now it's time to venture out to the world and glorify His name (after I had my break =p)

Procrastinator

I am a perfect example of senang-senang dahulu, susah-susah kemudian. Basically rolled on the bed and watched drama last week and now I'm staying up late to work on my thesis cause I have to submit them to my lecturer tomorrow. PURRRRFECT! *buries head under my thesis.*

Are you a MAPOTI?

I probably only fall in the share food pictures category. I don't use short form much tho I laugh way too much online, I don't hash tag like mad, I don't comment negatively, I don't put irrelevant captions, I don't write smart stuff...So yea...but it's damn funny. See which category you fall in. I know a couple of MAPOTI and I agree, it's quite annoying at times..
